Student Life

student-life-building

By enrolling with South Devon College, you automatically become a member of the South Devon College Students' Union (SDC:SU). The Students' Union is here to make sure you get the best possible College experience and provide you with exciting opportunities to complement your studies.

The SDC:SU plays an important role in helping you settle into College life, giving you the chance to get involved and make new, like-minded friends.

The SDC:SU organises a range of events, either to raise money for charity or just to help you chill out and have a good time. As an organisation defined by its members, the SDC:SU's programme of events is shaped by you, so if you've got any ideas or there is anything you would like to try your hand at, let us know! There's always something going on at the SDC:SU, whether it's Freshers'  Week, charity fundraisers or an epic Harlem Shake!

Common Room

common-room

Your Student Common Room has been designed by students for students. It's a general chill out area where you can socialise during break times or before and after lessons. You can play pool, listen to music and play games on the Wii or Xbox. You'll often find members of SDC:SU down there as well, so say hello and introduce yourself; everyone's welcome!

Course Representatives

You can represent your peers as a Course Representative, which gives you the unique opportunity to improve the student experience and also looks great on your CV. Each course nominates a representative, who attends termly meetings with members of College management to discuss a wide range of matters that affect students and the College.

Mobile SDC:SU

The mobile SDC:SU takes the SU experience on the road, bringing all of the excitement of our Paignton Campus to students who are located at our other sites. You can be sure that wherever you study with South Devon College, you'll be getting the full experience and never have to worry about missing out on any opportunities.
