We have reluctantly taken the very difficult decision to discontinue the South Devon 10k race from 2016. Whilst the event received outstanding feedback from participants over the five years we have run it, we recognise there are plenty of other fantastic races taking place in our region and intend to focus our efforts on encouraging our supporters to enter other local races and challenges and raise sponsorship for our Charity. Please get in touch with us if this appeals to you. Thank you for your interest and support of the event.
Well done to everyone that took part in our 10k held on Saturday the 16th of May 2015.
You can view all of the results here!
This race is organised by South Devon College in association with South Devon Athletic Club. It offers a real life learning experience for sports and public services students who will all have roles to play on the day, whether it’s marshalling, time keeping or being part of the race day communications team. The race also raises funds to support the work of the Friends of South Devon College.
We also invite primary schools and other charities to partner up with us and use the fun run as a fundraising event for their chosen cause. Those that commit to raise sponsorship will gain free entry and the sponsorship raised will be shared equally between the runner’s nominated charity and the race charity- Friends of South Devon College.
The route encounters a couple of challenging hills and fair bit of mud, but there are significant downhill and flat stretches and stunning views and scenery.
The race charity is the friends of South Devon College which is a registered charity established to advance the education of students attending South Devon College by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities; and to advance the education, social welfare and leisure opportunities for students and the local community. Unfortunately, the multi terrain nature of the event makes is unsuitable for wheelchair users.
