Data Protection Act 1998 – The information you provide will be passed to our government funding bodies and related organisations and include Skills Funding Agency, the Young People’s Learning Agency and the Information Authority. These bodies are responsible for funding, planning and encouraging education and training for young people and adults in England, and are registered under the Data Protection Act 1998. The information you provide will be shared with other organisations for the purpose of administration, careers and other guidance, and statistical and research purposes.
Other organisations with which we will share information include, the Department for Education, Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, Universities and Skills, Careers South West, Higher Education Statistics Agency, Higher Education Funding Council for England, educational institutions and organisations performing research and statistical work on behalf of our funding bodies or their partners.
At no time will your personal information be passed to organisations for marketing or sales purposes. From time to time students are approached to take part in surveys by mail and phone, which are aimed at enabling the funding bodies and their partners to monitor performance, improve quality and plan future provision.
The funding bodies value your views on the education or training which you receive, and will use these to help bring about improvements for learners in England.
The funding bodies or its partners may wish to contact you from time to time about courses, or learning opportunities relevant to you.
The personal information you provide is passed to the Chief Executive of Skills Funding (“the Agency”) and, when needed, The Department for Education, including the Education Funding Agency to meet legal responsibilities under the Apprenticeships, Skills Children and Learning Act 2009, and for the Agency's Learning Records Service (LRS) to create and maintain a unique learner number (ULN) and a Personal Learning Record (PLR). The information you provide may be shared with our organisations for education, training, employment and well-being - related purposes, including for research.
We will share your information about your education, training, employment and well-being with others where we believe it is in your best interests or we are required to in line with the Data Protection Act.
