Students urged to Step In and Step Up to construction jobs

South Devon College students have learnt first-hand about the wide range of careers in one of the fastest growing industries in the country.


A hundred young people aged 16-18 studying a range of subjects at South Devon College spoke to professionals working with some of thebiggest names in construction.

The students also met some of the people who helped build The South Devon College Energy Centre

Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust (TSDFT) held an Apprenticeship Awards Ceremony, in collaboration with South Devon College, to recognise the commitment, contribution and success of the many people involved in their apprenticeships.

Business students fundraise for PATH

Business students fundraise for PATH

South Devon College Level 3 Business students have been fundraising for PATH Torbay.

To raise the money the students organised cake sales, washed cars and one student, Jake Oliver, was brave enough to dye his hair red for the cause raising £126 toward the total of £420.

Former College apprentice secures a job at The Ritz

After completing his apprenticeship in June, Former NVQ Level 2 Food and Beverage Service student Gary Lee has successfully secured work at The Ritz in London. Prior to this, Gary worked at the Edgemoor Hotel in Bovey Tracey as front of house Duty Manager as well as Horizons Restaurant, based at South Devon College.
