NATIONAL STUDENT SURVEY
The National Student Survey* asks final year undergraduates to provide feedback on their course, and is assessed throughout the country.
2014 was yet another year where we scored fantastically well; 88% of students were satisfied with their course, compared to the average of 86% for all higher education institutions in England, marking the 3rd year in succession that we have ranked above the national benchmark.
The survey is divided into six areas relating to the student experience, in which we excelled in five categories. We take great pride in these fantastic results, as they are a tremendous endorsement from the people whose opinion matters most to us - the students.
The National Student Survey results are publicly available to help you make an informed choice of where and what to study. If you would like to view our results in more detail please visit unistats.direct.gov.uk.

93% of students had progressed to a positive destination, whether that was full or part-time employment or further education. What do people say about our courses?
I had always wanted to work in professional sailing, but I had no idea how to achieve that. Studying at South Devon College has allowed me to break into this industry, and I'm really glad I made the decision to study there. Before South Devon College I didn't have a career, but now I get to sail full-time thanks to the skills I developed there.
Since completing my studies, I immediately found work for a local company, working on a boat that I'd initially had a work placement on whilst at the College. I've since progressed to the position of First Mate on the boat.
I had a lot of great experiences at the College, but the most memorable was gaining my Yachtmaster Offshore, which was a big achievement. I plan to become a skipper of a sail training vessel, as well as competing on the French Singlehanded Circuit.
