Childcare and Development Qualification
The Childcare and Development qualification is designed to inspire those who are considering a career in early years, or related sectors. The course will cover the key aspects of child development, the benefits of play for young children and will introduce the importance of inclusive practice in early year’s settings. You will be taught by our experienced and professional team who have a wealth of experience in primary and early years education, and will take part in class based and practical activities to apply your knowledge of child development. You will be assessed by both coursework and a one hour exam during the course.
Why study this qualification?
The team will be able to advise and support you as individuals to help you choose the ideal pathway for working with children and young people. The course is an ideal preparation for further study towards a career in early years, and possible progression to the Level 2 Introduction to Early Years Care and Education or the Level 3 Early Years Educator courses at South Devon College, which are the ‘Gold Standard’ approved full and relevant qualifications to work with children aged 0-5 years. Further progression onto Higher Education studies at South Devon College is also available within this sector.
