Electronics in Hi-Tech Engineering
If you would like a career in a growing and exciting sector, studying a pathway in Electronics could be perfect for you. At South Devon High School, you can study Electronics and then progress through to South Devon College where eventually you could join the degree in engineering, or start an apprenticeship.
This pathway gives students an understanding of system controls, electronic principles, automation programming and Computer Aided Design.
What you will learn
You will learn how systems are used in engineering environments such as product design, automated manufacturing, maintenance and stock control. You will also take part in engaging practical tasks such as producing simple electronic circuits, testing the operation of circuits, plus designing and testing a simple control system with the use of electronic software.
How you will be assessed
This qualification in electronics will be assessed through internal practical assessments and an externally assessed unit.
