Suicide Awareness Entry Level
The Suicide Awareness Course is designed to increase understanding, introduce suicide prevention, and approach difficult conversations. This course uses interactive learning and real-life case studies to offer a compassionate approach to understanding suicide. With the rising awareness of mental health issues, it is crucial for educators, caregivers, and healthcare workers to recognize the signs and provide support. This course explores vulnerability factors, at-risk groups, and how these issues impact the local area.
The course aims to equip participants with the skills needed to engage in meaningful conversations about suicide, breaking down the stigma and fostering a supportive community. By understanding the local context and specific challenges faced by at-risk groups, participants will be better prepared to offer effective support and interventions. The course also emphasizes the importance of self-care for those working in high-stress environments, ensuring they have the resources to maintain their own mental health while supporting others.

“I really enjoyed studying Health and Social Care. You're treated as an adult at the College and the tutors get to know you on a personal level, they are really supportive and their knowledge is invaluable. I felt as though I grew as a person during my time there, which is so important."Caitlyn Crofts
